Beware Of Fake Figurines!!

That’s what Good Smile Company trying to tell us. Looks like the trend of fake figurines is starting to get out of hands that GSC has to resort to this.

fakes

Good Smile Company just updated their “Imitation” info with a new line up figurines. This time it’s “Clayroid puchi Lucky Star Season 01”. The above image are Fakes. Other info includes bad paint jobs, shiny and oily-look surface, and different base stand. You can view more info on the fake items here. The one in RED is Authentics, and BLUE is fakes.

Other discovered GSC fakes product include Nendoroid L, Nendoroid Asahina Mikuru, and Max Factory‘s Saber/Zero. You can view them here.

I think this is a really important matter to anyone who is also a figure collectors like myself. I’ve never gotten any fakes before, but this info does give me more insight on what’s happening out there. I know some people who already got tricked before. So please be careful when you are trying to purchase figurines from an unknown sources, especially Ebay and Yahoo! Auction.

More research on the stuffs you want to get is one thing you could do. Be smart peeps!! ( ^ _ ^ )/

    Bootleg figures have always been a problem and even I have felt the burn from buying one. But luckily I didn’t pay an outrageous price for it.

    i’m grateful that all my ebay purchases have been legit (or that i’ve been unable to tell the difference… ignorance is bliss ^^;;)… would hate to have ever supported bootlegers -_- post made me paranoid though… i should check all my lucky star nendoroid puchis when i get home ^^;;

    Ah, I remember posting about this way back on my blog when I noticed GSC’s first few warnings. Glad to see that they updated it with more fakes so we can all be informed about it.

    This one owner of an anime shop that I went to a few days ago said this to another customer, “If it’s from eBay and it’s from Hong Kong, it’s fake.” That pretty much goes along with my opinion of eBay too…

    Yikes I’m glad I got the first batch of petits. But nendoroid bootlegs are growing, with around 8 nendoroid bootlegs of the popular ones.

    Although it does make me laugh to see the limited edition WF Haruhi cast bunny nendoroid set, and comptiq konata nendoroid bootlegged.

    Ohh by the way, wcloudx, take a look at my newest nendoroid. Although then again, I blame you for turning me into a collector ;_;

    Eh? I thought there’s always been comment moderation since the beginning, but since one of your comment has already been accepted earlier, you shouldn’t have to go through it again.

    Maybe you entered a different info or email when you write your comment ^^;

    Seeing bootlegs makes me shiver.
    Luckily I haven’t bought any yet as most of my buys are from legit online stores.

    Play-asia ^_^ They had the limited edition set with her for half price! So I bought her for $37. At the moment, I think they are selling some still at $49. So you can find her discounted.
