3D Mascot “Mo-kun” In Progress

mokun

Decided to make a 3D rendition of one of my so-called “Blog Mascot” ^^

If you are wondering on which one are they, they are actually the ones that are featured on my Blog banner. The Samurai is called “Mo-kun” and the TV one is “Ku-chan” ^^

So how do I get their names? I actually took them from my other nick “Kumo”. “Ku + Mo”…well, you get the point ^^;

A little bit of background history. They are actually part of my Modelling project, back when I was just started a year ago. I’ve decided to use them for my Blog, since it would be a waste to just “Ignore” them after I finished ^^;

Anyway, back on topic~

Since currently one of my project involved 3D modelling, I’ve decided to use “Mo-kun” as my test model ^^ Software used is Maya. I’m pretty much still a newbie with the software, so still lots of Trials and Error ^^;

Had to do some Blueprint sketches:

Wireframes are pretty much done:

Did some adjustments, which is why it’s a little bit different from the Initial design.

Below is the finished model:

I hate to admit it, but it looks like a Prototype of a Figure~XD

A Figure of your own mascot?? One can always dream~:p

Next is Texturing and Colouring. It’s not easy, but it’s fun and challenging ^^

This is actually also to celebrate the 1-Year Anniversary of my Blog, and of course, I still owed you guys details on my new upcoming Blog. Sorry, but you guys just have to wait a little longer on that ( ^ _ ^ );

    Looks neat! the behind end of the foot seems to be too long though, looks cuter with long front, short back :3

    Looks pretty neat. You might want to scale the end of the arm down a little bit, kinda looks too thick right now.

    Oh would be better to turn on the ‘wireframe on shaded’ mode if you want to show any model with the wires on. Cannot really see the model right now based on the stills.

    Alas, great to see someone sharing the same interest. Just leave me an email if you need help with your model, anytime 😀
