Kyoto Animation just opened their newly site dedicated to their upcoming new 1/8 scale figure of “Akiyama Mio” from K-ON!, which marks their involvement debut in Figurine industry ^^
It’ll be fully supervised by KyoAni, but whether the figure is made independently by KyoAni or is a collaboration with other figure company is still unknown. Either way, looks like the figure is scheduled for Febuary 2010 release and will be available Via Kyoto Animation Online Shop.

They did a wonderful job on the face! …and such a nice dynamic pose too. I’d love to own this figure, but I don’t plan to go out of my way just to get her. She’s nice, but not nice enough 😉

One of the better Mios in my opinion.

While the face looks great, I don’t really care for the pose, and limited makes it an instant do not want.

I hate limiteds ;__;. This is the Mio I’ve been waiting for, too! Damn it.

Kyo Ani? Making figures? Seriously? Ugh…
I’ve been loving all the Mio figures so far, even UpLark’s, and I typically dislike their work, but this? Bleh…

A good manufacturer needs to do this version of Mio stat. D:

Stupid hat, cute face, looks like a figure with a lot of potential.
Also, I’m growing to dislike the bosom area “messed fabric”.

The hat is part of the anime.
wtf.
Look up the anime before you start shouting nonsense.

…
You’re mixing two things:
1. Faithful to the original.
2. Good looking.
One can come at the expense of the other. I also hate this type of hat, in all settings, in all places, and find its inclusion in the Gothic Lolita culture something to be lamented. It’s overdone, overworked, and tacky.

Let’s see the price.

hmm, I don’t really like how they sculpted the back of her hair and dress ^^”
might change my mind after seeing the final product though. but does that mean that they’re the ones who’re going to make the ED costumes and not another manufacturer?

I think this kind of explains why none of the good manufacturers were making ending theme outfits, KyoAni was probably saving the good one for themselves. Though even if they do a good job, the fact that it’s Japanese exclusive automatically turns me off of it. Also her hair sculpt looks really blocky in general.
But darnit, I kept holding off on K-on! figures because I was waiting for the ending theme outfits.

Although the hair is abit ugly, but the rest is just prefect. Damn the “will be available Via Kyoto Animation Online Shop”.

I stopped getting exited about all the k-on things but ima get this.

so far this the Mio I’m drawn to. 🙂

I would think they would get another manufacturer to make it for them. That is unless they want to go into the figure industry themselves.

I’m unsure of this one for me…
