GSC updated their Site with some new details regarding their upcoming “Nendoroid Nakano Azusa” from K-ON!, which was just opened for reservations recently.
The reason why they decided to open a 2nd shipment eventhough it’s not part of their initial plan, is because of the amount of order they received yesterday. The amount of orders they received through online retail stores have exceeded their original production capacity, which in the end resulted in shortage of supply.
According to Twitter by Akitakanori, one of GSC staff, the order have exceeded the amount by 3 times of their original production capacity.
So it’s possible that eventhough you ordered for the May release, you might get it in June instead because of the supply shortages.
Plus, the good news is that it does not applied to just Nendoroid Nakano Azusa, but also to the other upcoming K-ON! items, which include the Figma line up. So they are now planning for a 2nd shipment for the rest of the items.
So this is a good chance for those who missed the previous Figma and Nendoroid reservations of the series (Yay!) ^^

Whoaa. O___O That’s pretty crazy, I hope I get the May shipment, but I guess it doesn’t really matter.
I hope Ritsu is reopened for order soon, she’s the only one I’m missing.

That’s some awesome sales of Azunyan. ^^:
Also awesome that the other K-ON! girls will be re-released. I’m very excited for this as I still need to order Mugi and Ritsu.
Thanks for reporting! ^^

I was hoping they would do something like this. It’s only fair. Hopefully the second batch won’t sell out as the first. xD

its good to know, gsc are willing to make more for the fans so they dont have to go to ebay and pay extra. (ofc extra $ for themselves)
I even saw mio nendoroid on yja go for 10000yennie now i feel sorry for the person who bought it.
next step for gsc is to allowing international customers a chance to get their hands on limited editions without having to pay extra (i can only dream)
wonderfest 2010 mio nendoroid, I will get you :p

defeats the purpose of it being “limited” though right?^^

no, it can still be a limited number but give international customers a chance to order too

This just goes to show how popular of a franchise K-ON! is. The second shipment will also be helped along by the airing of the 2nd season of the anime.

2nd shipment kills the purpose of them being “collectible” since supply is going to over take demand causing a drop in people wanting the item and the item eventually ends up in the bargain bin. If they sold out, then just make similar items or at least put *1st edition* on their original shipment or something. Of course I shouldn’t be saying that cause if they didn’t do 2nd shipment, I would have never gotten my Azu-nyan…but still~
