Good Smile Company updated their Imitation Info Page again, this time with the addition of their 1/8 scale figure of “Black Rock Shooter Original Ver.” from Black Rock Shooter.
Left (Blue) is Fake and Right (Red) is Genuine:

– Take note of the Manufacturer Company Sticker pasted on the back of the box. Fake doesn’t have that.

– Take note of the inner packaging of the box.

– Take note of the Star and Text Prints in front of the box. Genuine is metallic and dented.

– Take note of the face sculpt and paint, especially the eyes.
Keep a look out peeps~!!

I don’t know why anyone would proudly display the bootleg version in their home. It’s hideous.

GSC should probably update their site about these when the bootleg first appears not months and months later.
2012 – “BRS ~animation ver.~ bootleg update”, yatta, yatta.

Agreed with you there. They always take a long time to post about such information; guess we just have to be vigilant rather than to rely on official sites.

lol 2012… Pictures of non-authentic BRS animation ver cropped up before the figure was even released. Funny how not only they use the same box design for that, but they also managed to keep the packaging compact compared to the authentic one.

Well, no holographic sticker is a dead giveaway, if not the poor quality of the figure itself. Sigh at bootlegs.
