Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention 2011 is a 2-day event which was held on August 20th~21st, 2011, which finally I get the the chance to attend to ^^
The event was held at Suntec Convention Center, same place as Anime Festival Asia, and it was my first time going for the event. Managed to go for both days, although I didn’t stay for full days on both. My first impression of the event was great. I don’t know much about last year so I can only compared it to AFA, which I’ve attended each year, but I’m definitely impressed on how they handled the ticket queuing.
Liking how they actually organized the queuing separately on the 3rd floor, not on the same floor as the event which is the 4th. What AFA did for the past years was that the tickets counter is on the same floor as the event, which in the end leads to confusion on which line you need to queue on, not to mention there was so little space and how packed it is. So I really hope that AFA 2011 will follow the same plan as STGCC 2011. Trust me, it will be so worth it and makes everyone happy.
Anyway back to STGCC 2011~
So I managed to go for both days, and my main highlights for the event are Kipi and Jacky Panel Talk on Day 1, Itou Shizuka Session on Day 2, and the Cosplay Competition on Day 2. Lots of toys and figurines on display and on sales where mostly are Marvel and DC related. If you are looking for Anime & Manga related, probably not the right place ^^;
This post will just be a quick overview on both days of the event. There will be separate posts focusing on the highlights, so Let the photos do the talking then~

Day 1 – August 20th, 2011
I arrived around 10 AM. Most people were still busy queuing for tickets, but managed to get in early with the Media Pass (Yay~!)
Hot Toys Booth. Lost of cool toys in display, really liking how they do the Diorama and stuffs.
Nintendo Booth. You get to test out the new Nintendo 3DS here. Tried my first 3DS, and can’t get used to it. You need to be in the right eyes position. A slight movement can really makes you dizzy.
Dragon Nest Booth. You get to test the Online Game here.
Tamiya Booth. You get to race your Tamiya car here. Competitions were also held later in the day.
…and this is probably what most people are coming to the event early for, to get your hands on the Limited Hot Toys Goodies~
One of the goodies is this cool looking “Iron Man Mark IV Secret Project Ver.” from the movie Iron Man 2.
The queues are long~!!
People inspecting their loots~
…2 hours later.
This is the “Artist Alley” where most Artists and Circles display their latest works.
…and my hats went to this guy. He actually sculpt figurines by himself, and even did a Live sculpting demo during the event. Impressive~
You get to play card games here also. I think it was Weiss Schwarz.
A booth and an area were also set up where you get to play Marvel VS Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter 4 AE. Competitions were also held here later in the day.
Zaneeds’ booth.
The event hall is divided into 2 areas, Booth Section and Main Stage. Main Stage was still empty when I got there. 1st Stage event started at 12 PM.
Near the Main Stage is the “Walk of Fame”, where you get to meet and get autograph signed by the Guests.
Early queues for Kipi and Kishida Mel.
…and finally it’s the “Cosplay: From Japan With Love” panel talk featuring Kipi and Jacky Dosai from Cosmode. Go Here for a detailed Post on the Panel Talk.
I left after the panel talk which is around 3 PM. That pretty much ends Day 1~
Day 2 – August 21st, 2011
For Day 2, I came a bit later since my main highlights for the day were Itou Shizuka Session and the Cosplay Competition. Day 2 more packed than Day 1~
More Queuing at the “Walk of Fame” to meet guests~
People already gathering and queuing for Itou Shizuka.
Unfortunately, no photos and video during the session so can’t show you much on that ^^;. The session is 1 hour and Itou Shizuka did a 20-minute Live dubbing featuring Hayate no Gotoku, the longest she ever had apparently.
She also answered some questions and did some “Line” requests submitted earlier by the fans. The chosen ones got to have her Autograph as a prize. I think there were 7 winners total. Anyway, it was so worth it. She looks nice wearing her blue Yukata, giving that Summer feeling~
Then finally it’s the Cosplay Competition, the final Main Stage event. Go Here for a detailed Post on the Competition. The quality of the competitors is definitely top notch. The guests judges were also overly excited when they saw them~
…and that ends my STGCC 2011 overview on both days. Overall, it was a really great and successful event. Looking forward to next year’s event, and hopefully I will have the time~
More coming~

One of the problems with our local conventions is the strict policies, rules and regulations regarding the special guests. Whether it was this STGCC or AFAs, they are so strict. Not to mention, the stingy autograph giveaways with the horrendous lucky draw system and the lack of meet and greet sessions.
I don’t know if it’s due to the fact that the managers of the stars are just strict or that we are just cheapskates. Whatever the case, I really hope they get their acts together for future conventions.
